I learned today that a new Fox drama pilot is in the works and the producers have cast Kevin Bacon in one of the lead roles. This is the first time Kevin has scored a major series role. The word is that he has committed to doing 15 episodes a season not the standard 22 episodes because he wants to continue doing feature films. Read on to find out more about the upcoming Fox series.
The project doesn’t have a name yet, but has been described as an “edge-of-the-seat thriller about a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers, and a retired FBI profiler who finds himself in the middle of it”. So, does Kevin play the serial killer or the FBI agent? I was surprised to hear that he will be the FBI dude…
Fox appears to be putting a lot into this project, which is written and produced by Kevin Williamson. Kevin did Dawson’s Creek, which isn’t the highest praise, but he did also work on the iconic Scream franchise and the Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle.
Kevin is relatively new to TV, having made a name for himself as a features guy. He is finishing up the film, R.I.P.D and is also going to be working on the Billy Bob Thornton film Car. While he is certainly a movie actor, I actually think that he will do well in this role. I have to say having only heard a bit about this, it is starting to remind me a lot of Fox’s famed series, 24 and Kevin will probably do a good job in the Keifer Sullivan-esque performance.
