By now everyone has heard about the whole Lana Del Ray saga… she attracted some fierce criticism after her live performance on Saturday Night Live, then Kristen Wiig spoof. Now news is out that Lana has postponed her U.S. tour which was supposed to commence next month. Is this because of the intense criticism she received after the SNL performance, or just to create some distance from SNL?
According to the New York Post “(Lana) and her manager decided to cancel (the tour) after SNL. She was very upset…They figure it allows time for her to clear her head, then go back to selling tickets. More importantly, they figure the extra time gives them more distance from SNL.”
There has been so much talk about Lana Del Ray it is almost being way blown out of proportion IMHO. I agree that her SNL gig was pretty weird/weak/ordinary, but all the media spin that has come since then has made me question whether this was all a bit of a PR stunt. I’m not sure… it just all feels very dramatic. Perhaps her tour cancellation is the latest in the saga to create more buzz surrounding the young singer? What do you think of all the LDR drama?
