We have been getting really excited about who is going to be performing at the Grammy Awards next weekend. The lineup of performers is outstanding. Now, we have heard that one of those performers, Paul McCartney, is going to be honored with a MusiCares “Person of the Year” award on Friday – two days prior to the main awards at a special ceremony in L.A.
MusiCares is an organization that is linked to the Grammys, it helps musicians in financial or personal crisis, which is a great idea. I also think that Paul McCartney is the perfect person to be honored with this award. He is being honored for his music and his charitable work, both of which are significant. Just as an example, he released A Garland For Linda, a choral tribute album to his wife, who died of breast cancer. All proceeds went to The Garland Appeal, in aid cancer sufferers. He is also a patron of Adopt-A-Minefield.
The benefit is going to feature some of the performers who will also be taking the stage on Sunday…Katy Perry, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Foo Fighters and Tony Bennett. Who is getting excited about Sunday night viewing?? I am!!
