I loved Portia Ally McBeal all those years ago and now she will be back in a TV comedy, which is great news I say. The Smart One, the new show, is about an intelligent professional who “agrees to work for her dumb but popular sister who is a city mayor”.
A comedy by the funny gal, Ellen Degeneres, is sure to be good, and Portia has great comedic acting style. I completely think she was probably right for the role, but I do wonder how the casting went… did Ellen have a say in who would be cast in her lead female part? Ellen is going to be executive producing the project, and I’m excited to see it when it comes out. I am ready for a new comedy to love. I wonder how it will be for Ellen and Portia to work together, it’s not always easy for spouses to work closely…hmm… have they worked together before?
