Heidi Klum has been keeping a relative low profile in the weeks since she and husband Seal confirmed that they are undergoing a marriage separation. Except for some work obligations and daily outings with her children, Heidi has managed to stay pretty much out of the public eye … until last night. Heidi made her way to New York to attend the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2012 Fashion Week at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC to make her first red carpet appearance since news of her marital split. Altho Heidi didn’t address her personal life on the red carpet last night she was very noticeably still wearing her wedding ring … which, I think, speaks volumes. You can hardly accuse her of doing things by half. Heidi Klum made her first red carpet appearance last night since separating from estranged husband Seal, looking utterly captivating in a sophisticated black Roberto Cavalli gown. The strapless creation cleverly created curves on her super trim silhouette, which she complimented with large chunky costume jewellery – and notably her wedding ring. While she has also been of supermodel statistics, Heidi’s gelled back hair and bare shoulders showcased her protruding collarbone and very petite upper arms without an inch to pinch. Heidi attended the annual charity amfAR gala event – in support of AIDS research – at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan, New York City, ahead of looming Fashion Week in the Big Apple. While the 38-year-old wore a faux fur winter coat to cover up outside, in various poses inside the venue the tattoo of her husbands name could be seen on her inner right forearm. Sarah Jessica Parker hosted the evening, which saw appearances from Lindsay Lohan, Elizabeth Hurley, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Hudson and former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld. Heidi and Seal revealed they were taking a hiatus from their seven-year marriage last month on January 23, but neither of them have filed for divorce as of yet.
Wow, she looks great … as always. And I have to say, the fact that neither Heidi or Seal have filed official paperwork to end their marriage seems very promising that they are truly working hard to save their marriage. Naturally, we cannot know what they are going thru privately nor can we know what steps they are taking (or are not taking) in order to salvage their marriage but the pair to still seem relatively committed to one another. The fact that both Heidi and Seal continue to wear their wedding rings even tho they are separated says to me that they are doing everything they can to make things work out between them. I honestly wish them luck, no matter what they eventually decide to do. It’s great to see Heidi looking so well … I’ve missed seeing that smile. With New York Fashion Week about to get underway, she will likely be very bizzy with work obligations in the coming days. Here’s hoping the work will help keep this beautiful smile on her face.
